Yes. BYOK can reduce managed-credit usage, but it does not remove core platform limits like render duration, concurrency, storage, queue access, or overall plan eligibility.
Even with BYOK, long renders still use Vids Mill compute, queue capacity, storage, and bandwidth. The tighter Free limits keep the demo useful without turning it into a free render farm.

Managed AI is already included on paid plans, so BYOK is optional.
When your own key handles supported text, image, or voice generation, those managed AI components stop consuming Vids Mill credits. In practice, that can make your included credits last longer.
Paid credits apply when Vids Mill managed AI or managed rendering does billable work for your account.
That includes managed previews and full videos, document ingest AI, animated-image clips, channel automation AI drafting, timeline AI image regeneration, and animated-image suggestion actions. Some internal AI steps are bundled into those features instead of being charged as separate line items.
Charges are fractional and automatically adjust with recent or actual provider cost, so the same action can cost a little more or less over time.
If BYOK handles a supported generation step, that step is billed by your provider instead of consuming the matching Vids Mill managed credit component.
