Does Free support BYOK?
Yes. Free users can connect personal AI keys for supported script, voice, and AI image work.
Free does not include managed AI. Without a connected personal key, Free stays on stock/manual visuals and non-AI paths.
Right now, BYOK supports OpenAI and OpenRouter keys. More providers may be added later.
What is the incentive for BYOK on paid plans?
Managed AI is already included on paid plans, so BYOK is optional.
When your own key handles supported text, image, or voice generation, those managed AI components stop consuming Vids Mill credits. In practice, that can make your included credits last longer.
Do plan limits still apply when I use BYOK?
Yes. BYOK can reduce managed-credit usage, but it does not remove core platform limits like render duration, concurrency, storage, queue access, or overall plan eligibility.
What do paid credits cover?
Credits mainly track managed AI-assisted work such as narration, AI images, and other managed generation steps, plus the render profile itself.
If BYOK handles a supported generation step, that step is billed by your provider instead of consuming the matching managed Vids Mill credit component.
Why is Free limited to 90 seconds and one render at a time?
Even with BYOK, long renders still use Vids Mill compute, queue capacity, storage, and bandwidth. The tighter Free limits keep the demo useful without turning it into a free render farm.
Where do I ask more billing or setup questions?
